"I heard that there has been no rain in Tainan for more than 600 days." And at the end of last month, the heavy rain that fell quenched the thirst of southern Taiwan, and I happened to be in Tainan. After nearly a year and a half of no raining day, the people who lived in Tainan is full of smiles. This is a scene I have never seen in Taipei. People in Taipei always worry about things because of a rain, and even lose their mood, and I’m no exception. A rain can wash away a lot of things, but it also brings a lot of troubles, seeping in from the edge of the house. This is a portrait of the northern tip of the island, and my most honest confession.
The day after the heavy rain, when I returned to my residence in Taipei, drop by drop of rain fell on the tin roof, I remembered that rain again.
